I took out my wiper motor to repack with new grease and after re-assembly it isn’t working.

I unintentionally unseated the armature causing the three springs and brushes to separate/move. I slid each spring back into place followed by the brushes but I am not sure it was done correctly; does anyone have pictures or a teardown DIY? The FSM has the electrical checks which I will need to do after I make sure everything is put back together correctly :(

It's very easy to reseat the brushes, just unhook the little springs that tension the brushes, push in the brushes, insert the armature, then hook each spring back up.

I’m missing something here. I’ve pushed each spring into its slot and then with some difficulty I can push the brush into the slot as well. Of course the spring wants to force the brush back out - you’re saying I should be able to remove spring force until after the armature is seated?

Semi squared away, a spring broke. What are the chances I can get one locally?

Sorry to hear that. I'm looking at a 1989 motor and the springs are a small coil with long ends making a V-shape. I don't see how they would break unless they are very corroded.

I doubt they are available separately, but I would think any Toyota (maybe any Japanese) windscreen wiper motor from the 70s to 90s which is the same size is likely to have the same brush springs. Maybe a trip to the junk yard is in order.
