fj60 axle in 40

i was in a junk yard the other day and saw a fj60 with its front axle still in it. now from the other post something about swapping a 60 axle into a 55 it got me thinking. whats the differences in the 60 axle compared to the 40? is it wider? the spring perches wider?

im thinking instead of doing the min truck knuckle swap to the 60 axle infront. if all i had to do was mod the axled with new spring perches it sounds like it would be easier and faster?

40's and 55's are identical, so the same issues apply.

The pumpkin side perch will land ON the 60-pumpkin under a 4- spring setup...outboarding the front springs is the common mod to address that issue.
