Thought I would share...

I have been looking for the rear tail gate bumpers for the FJ45 for some time with No Luck...
I was able to buy a couple of sets of the later bumpers from a Mud Member which are larger. I think these are also NLA. These bumpers were from the Middle East I believe. For reference, "See the part numbers in the photos"...

I had a friend cut these down on a band saw and then he hand sanded to original the shape. The old originals had shrunk over time so we compensated for that. The new ones are the same thickness as the originals. " that made it easy" The bolt hole and the little rubber stopper are all in the same locations as the original early ones. I think they are perfect...

I hope this helps others.

Very nice work, CP.

Could easily pass even a 100 point concours.

(The earlier ones did have a smaller diameter fixing "pin.")

The only reason a few of the later larger ones exist in Gulf countries, was to avoid hitting the optional rear bumperettes when their tailgate chains were removed to fully lower the tailgate. Not many of those bumperettes were installed, hence the remaining NOS rubber bumpers.

Bear, thanks for the insight and photos. My originals fixing pins were long gone but I could see where they used to be. When I checked the fixing pin location, it was an exact match.
