Hi all - Not much of a poster, just usually search the forums and learn what I need. I do have a question though, I ran across a FJ45 a couple of years back and I'd like some opinions on the condition and what it may be worth. I've linked some pictures.

Picasa Web Albums - Sy - FJ 45#

I have been thinking about picking it up the owner still has it. Not sure if I would keep it or not. I have a project in the works, but wonder if cutting up a 45 is the best route or if I should sell it.

If it's still for sale and I don't use it, I could probably get it titled for the next owner, but there is no bed. Just cab, top, front clip etc. It's pretty rough and I'm not sure what they are going for. I'd like to have an idea of value before I make any offers.

Opinions and feedback appreciated.

Pics of the frame are pretty important. So, there's no drivetrain? 45 project trucks don't pop up very often & to me this ain't *that rough. If the frame is solid w/ stock drivetrain, I'd say it's worth ~ $1800- $2000. I'd start the offer at $1,200. Hope you get it or it ends up on here as someone's resto thread :bounce2:

My opinion is that is pretty rough and you could do a lot better by spending more money. I think very little of that is usable other than small parts etc. If the frame were ok, I guess you could make a crawler out of it, but no show truck that is for sure. Unless, you like spending lots of money.

Thanks for the input. It does have drive train in it, but not runnint. Not sure what is wrong, if anything. Looks like it had a hard farm life and then parked. I will try to contact the owner and see. Still not sure if I'll part it or use what I need. All I'm after is the back portion of the tub and back portion of the top.....there is a project brewing.:grinpimp: That pretty much kills the rest except for the frame, which I recal as being good and the other little things. If I can swing it for reasonable we'll see...

Yes, the bed portion is a monster. A homemade flat bed and tall.

Kief - Same Kief that used to make shirts? If so, you might remember me.....I worked there for several years.

WASSUP!

Are you out of jail?... hangin' with the dogs- at least that is what I heard... Good to see ya on here. Ol' Johnny moved..

Drag that thing home! You still have your 40?

Still doing time, on the installment plan, ten hours a day.:) The dog stuff is cool. I actually sold my 40 a few years back. It got me into a house though, so it was a good sacrafice. Started another one then sold it, now looking to start another project that I've been kicking around in my head for a while. I've been here, but just reading, not really posting. I'm probably gonna end up trying to get this 45. It's been a little while since I was out this way, but I think he still has it. We'll see...still not sure if it is what I'm after, but maybe part it out if not.

I head John moved. I hope he does well with the new place. He's got a lot of talent and wealth of info.
