If you have a 74 model that started 9/73 you would have a cable to a valve on the firewall. Earlier was a manual valve on the cylinder head.

thanks, yes. I have a 73 but i converted it to the firewall valve. I have a warm pull from a newer model but it has a kink and is a bit rusty. It works but will break eventually. The setup is great, compared to the pre-9/73. particularly since I live in Maine
