I picked up this old-school FJ40 ARB front bumper/brush-guard this weekend and I'm thinking on putting it on the pig. In the picture I just have it sitting up there to get an idea of how it would look. I also sat the fenders and grill up there and it looked pretty good. I also considered doing a little "surgery" on it to fit the look of the 55 if needed. Has anybody tried this? Thoughts?

Ah come on guys, don't hold back, tell him what you think. Lordy dude, live in Aus? Flat terrain? Otherwise, you have a good front end kickstand there. Maybe you could hack the lowers off to buy you some aproach. do you need all that space between the bumper and front end. If you could get it closer to the radiator, that would help. Or f it, weld it on and go for a spring over.

Yeah, I don't know if I like the idea the more I think about it. I could hack it up but I'd hate to cut on it. I also thought about fabbing up a mount to put it up higher. The bar is also partially blocking the headlights.

They used to fit those very bullbars on 55's 45's and 40's all the time over here. I work in a 4wd store, most that you see do have the bottom bar hacked off. Search though google.au fj55 you should find photos.
