So the reason for this question was that the fuel gauge has not registered accurate since Chris purchased this truck, and when it read empty it did not take more than 16 gallons to fill it.


So along those lines,

Anyone see anything out of line with this?

That's the way mine reads too and I was shocked to see how much gas I still had. I found out the real capacity after driving on empty for lonfer than I thought possible. Filled up and added 23.6 gallons.

No idea what that part is.

I can't get much more than 21 gals, and I'm always running low low low (college). I know I'm not about to run out until the needle goes to the letter "E" on the gauge, once It is a needle width into that "E" I have to find a gas station pronto.

Is that the pump motor? Bronze bushing looks done.

Looks like the fuel pump armature with a worn commutator...
