Fixed the CD player and LCD backlight (1 Viewer)

The factory radio had no display light when I bought the Cruiser and shortly after, the CD stopped working. Four years later I finally got around to this.

Pulled the head-unit, removed the top cover (6 screws):

Located the laser pickup:

Cleaned the lens using pure (anhydrous alchohol):

Next, pulled off the volume knob and the front panel, located the bad bulb (it's the one above the tape door) and swapped it with the bulb for the CD eject button:

Cut the paint around the base a little with an X-acto:

Needed to twist it free with a small wire cutter:

Bulb

Nice job!

What type of bulb did you replace the burned out ones with? Also, where did you purchase it?

My right side preset light is burned out and it's driving crazy.

I am still trying to find new replacement bulbs.
I'll be sure post it when and if I ever do.
