first restoreation what to do first

i have two engies i need one to be running what should i do first? what seals/bearings/gaskets do i need

Visit the forum for 40,45,and 55 series tech and use the search function. I have recently seen a kit w/ the gaskets, plugs, main and rod bearings and piston rings for 170 bucks or so at rpmmachine.com. Don't know about the quality tho. Most folks here are insistant in using oem(toyota dealer) head gaskets, I'd pay head to the masses...it is a major undertaking... you have experience?

not much ive mostly worked on my 2002 wrangler, never rebuilt a engine before so its guna be a learning experience, im a lil overwhelmed. not sure what the best way to evaluate what i have is

Search compression test and do one. Then post the results as well as pictures here. What makes you think the engine needs rebuilt??? Can you post pics of the rig?
