When we set up camp on deer valley a couple weeks ago, I broke out the fly rod to fish the creek...
EPIC!!! Every time I fish that lil stream, it killer!!
Not huge fish by any means, but just good consistent fishing. I probably caught 15-20 fish in an hour and a half all surface hits using a parachute hairs ear size 20!! Had to stop because I was being exsanguinated by Mosquitos!!!!

A fall fishing/camping/4x4 trip would be awesome. Took the wife up this morning so she could see the lake, was trying to get her to take a shot at casting and what not but after being up at 4:30 for a workout she just brought the lounge chair, watched me catch a few and then caught her own Z's. Was the only one up there with NO sound other than the fish.

Was definitely a great morning, caught 4 small brook trout but that was it. All were between 6-8" long nothing fantastic but still fun to bring in. If you guys click on my photos they should take you to my Flickr account. From there I am chronicling my fishing for this year.

But like I was telling Kurt, catching all these guys is fun, but I want something that is going to bend the rod and give me a little more fight. I grew up in CA and fished specifically for largemouth, on a bad day I would catch 3-4lb'rs biggest I caught was a 6 1/2lbr from a farm pond. I think I would absolutely #$%& myself if I was pulling something like that in on my 5wt rod!!!! :bounce2:

we can go for salmon in Oroville....might need to borrow my fathers 8wt salmon rod haha it would be fun though

So recently got a new rod from theCLYMB.com. Picked up a 5wt 9' Redington Classic Trout (CT) for $75 shipped. This is an amazing rod, good moderate action and accurate as all get out. Definitely throws better than I do and has me completely impressed. They are still for sale on theCLYMB and also on Cabelas. If you end up wanting to buy one through the clymb then let me know so I can send you an invite as I will get money if you buy something.

Here are the two tigers I caught on it. Caught an awesome rainbow this morning but dropped him before I could get the camera out.
