Yes. Whoever had my truck before me, had a rounded flare. I think that this was really part of the box that they used, (not add-on flares.)

Ya it looks like it, did you leave it or do your own reinforcement. The reason I am interested i am repairing my fenders and will need to take out the original. I can do my own build up but steel would be nice and make for less work. I want to know all my options before I jump in.

My brother-in-Law & nephew have the pleasure of doin’ my build. We decided to patronize their Arizona shop during tough economic times...2008-2011.

Since we cross bred a chopped Silverado chassis & engine it was out of my league anyway. So I really can’t address your question.

I might add that the original plan that we wanted to do was based off of some flares (later aborted, because of labor costs) that came from a build off Pinterest. I wish now I’d of kept those pictures. This fella was a real meticulous craftsman ! He used muffler pipe, bent & formed to the basic shape of my plastic flares. The basic form of the pipe made a clean rounded edge, then he used metal sheets welded on top & sides, bent to follow the shape of the flare formed by the pipe. It was a FJ-45 with a very stubby chopped box. It was a wicked looking “chunky” beast....If you like that look and the rigidity you speak of, go on Pinterest and see if you can find that build. He showed good pics and step by step to boot !
