[FS] Raleigh NC - 2F LPG (Propane) Setup
Hey Folks,
Thinking of going back to gasoline on my rig - mainly due to availability of LP where I live. Here is the setup and how I got it all working: https://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series-tech/371132-2f-propane-lpg-conversion-impco-425-a.html
I've been running it for over 2 years and am REALLY happy with how it works on the trails. I can run a full day on one tank trailriding (that's with stopping and bs'ing and such, not a solid straight 8 hours). I **think** I'm getting somewhere between 8-10 mpg, but it's really tough to tell. It NEVER stumbles and any angle, and you can ask anyone in our club, Olde North State Cruisers, I have put it to the test. Low-end torque is great and I got much better power across the board once I had my head reworked. My next step was to have Jim C recurve the dizzy, which I hear can make a real difference. Just never got around to it. Burns super clean and it's a real head turner everywhere I go I get asked about the tanks and people can't believe my junk runs on 'pane. Not shown in that link is that I moved all the Impco stuff down low on the driverside firewall for a much cleaner install. Can provide pics for anyone interested.
Here's what all would be included:
Impco 425 Mixer
Holley base plate
Impco Lockoff
Impco Evaporator
Hi-pressure hose and fittings
All the associated t-fittings and other evaporator plumbing
My cobbled up stock linkage (if you want it, it works great!)
2 Forklift Tanks and mounting straps
plate I fabbed to mount Impco stuff to the firewall
Air Filter housing and filter
What you'd need:
Fuel pump blockoff plate (easily fabbed from a piece of plate)
Offenhauser (or other intake manifold to fit 4bbl) - you could do a 4bbl to 2bbl convertor for your stock manifold I suppose.
$600 takes it all and I might consider including the Offenhauser in trade for a GOOD condition stock intake and $75.
