any more real life feedback on this new generation of wireless backup cameras (like the VR-3 models discussed recently) that came out en force recently?

Intrigued by the idea, but heard now that the wireless transmission may be questionable. Also wondering if the size of the screen is just too small for good usability in a vehicle.

thoughts?

Eric,

No personal experience with the particular unit in recent discussion(s), but I've had one in my old Toyota van.;)

It was black and white and had the night vision type of deal (probably common) and it was pretty good/useful.

The only thing I had to be careful about is to make sure that you alternate looking between the monitor and the back window or you could run into things that were higher than the camera (tree branch, etc...) if you only relied on the camera.

I thought you had bought one of those already.:D

Ditto on Mot's experience: I occasionally drive a converted motor home for work that has one of the B/W cameras, and it doesn't cover the topside of things, so it is possible to back into overhangs & trees...
