Sorry to have missed you guys, but with the early wake up (kids were up at 6am) and the rain we decided to head for home. Last night was great, relaxing by the campfire and making Smores with Julia. We had Sunrise lake to ourselves, and falling asleep in the RTT with only the sounds of the frogs was a treat.

I was wondering how it was going to be getting the M101 up the V-Rock, and it turned out to be pretty minimal drama. Going down it slipped into the notch, but the only damage was the cap on the wheel bearing.

On the way down in the rain. Got the line right with the truck, but was a bit off for the trailer... No biggie, it can take it.

Too bad we missed you Jason, it turned out to be a nice afternoon. I pulled into Hale sometime after 1, and Greg had a good little hot dog fire going already.
The kids had a great time getting soaking wet in the many puddles and the high lake waterline.
We started to head for home around 3:30, and I almost came home with a new Kawasaki hood ornament! I come around a right hand corner, doing 40-50, and there are 3 bikes on the road, 1 right in front of me. He headed for the trees very quickly, with very large white eyes.
On the way back we stopped in at Weaver, where Greg mentioned that the caretaker at the road construction on the way up had talked about a "quad trail" that went from Weaver to Hale.
I figured he was referring to the Weaver Francis traverse, but recall Sonny or Andrew saying it had been closed or something to that affect.
So after we parted ways at Weaver, I decided to go check it out, and took the last turn off up into the hills right before you get into Weaver Lake.
After a short stint on some newish looking road, there was a promising rocky road off into the trees, but it soon kept forking, and forking, and forking, and forking.
I turned around and took one of the forks, and came out at Francis Lake. A fire was still smoldering, so we decided to roast some more 'dogs for dinner.
The drive home sucked, I got stuck behind the 'ride to live' charity bike ride, all the way from the Sasquatch to Mission, at 20-30 kmh.........
