Anyone see Check News, another long boarder died last night...

Kid is my long time friends son, he was only 17...

Known the parents since they were high school sweet hearts, three kids later and over 25 years of being together they had a huge loss..

Went over tonight for a informal visit, went in not expecting what would happen next, cried like a baby...for a long long time.

He and I both watch as our kids grow up, had no idea what impact it would have on me..

Great parents, great kids, two boys and a girl..

He has been with the Cedar volunteer fire department for 15 years, all the guys are like family, could not imagine showing up to see one of the kids you know so well dead on scene...

Very very sorry to hear. Loosing a child is I think the worst thing that can happen to someone. Sounds like it hit really close to home for your family. I offer my sincere condolences.

Thats a tragic story. Feel for the family and the driver.

I've had to deal with a long boarder crash myself, guy had no safety gear on whatsoever. Its good to see that helmets are gradually becoming "cool".

Thanks guys, it was hard to go and very hard to see his parents hurting so badly, but very glad I went.

Wished I could of kept it together better tho...ever since my dad passed I seem to inherited a some type of girl gene...

All the fire trucks and firemen from the local departments showed up on his acreage for the visit today, so very impressive to see the support they are getting..

As one mudder said to me life goes on and the sadness will start to pass after time....

I'm so sorry to hear that Rob. I think it's every parents worst fear; including mine.

One of my cousins passed away when she was only 15. It's not something you "get over"...........

Your right there George...

Especially kids.

Celebration of life at Cedar High School with about a 1000 people in attendance...

Over the past few years me and Brian talked about our boys choice of recreation in the way of weed....we both tried fighting them on this but in the end as they grew older it was wasted battle..

During the celebration Carol the mom, mentioned her sons use of marijuana in light heart way, got the whole crowd chuckling, fire department and police officers in attendance also chuckled.
