I will be taking the kids out for a day of sledding one day after Christmas. Anybody who want to come is welcome. I am off all of this coming week, so the day is also flexible to that which suits others most. I am thinking we'll probably leave Abbotsford around 10:30 am and have lunch on a mountain around a fire. We could go as close as Sumas Mountain or further out to Jones Lake or up West Harrison FSR. I am open to suggestions.

Edit: Those without youngins are welcome as well but ya will have to pull your own *&%# sled back up the hill.

last ime out.

Sounds like a great idea, I need to wax the toboggan first.

Do you have a preference for which day and where? I was just told that no fires are allowed in Sumas Regional Park, which is key to a good sledding day with kids. I need to see a map because I know the park doesn't cover the whole mountain.

Didn't do Princeton. Wife got home from work yesterday and was really tired. This afternoon we headed out to West Harrison FSR. It was my first time out that way. Took the wrong road up past Gale lake. Snow on that road was really deep and heavy. We turned around and got ourselves on the other road going towards Weaver Lake. Part way up we found a Ramcharger abandoned which was running BFG ATs. I just barely managed to get around it. At the Summit we met a guy in a Jeep on his way down. He advised against going down into Weaver as the snow was over knee depth. At the summit we found a RHD Surf running chains. Later the owner and the owner of the Ramcharger came up the hill walking. They too advised against trying to go on because of the snow depth and weight. So we set pouselves up at the summit and made a sledding run on a spur road for the kids. Later I built a fire for the all important hot dogs and marshmelows. We got out just after dark. It was a good day. I might had tried further if I wasn't alone. However, alone and no winch I knew it would be foolish to get stuck at Weaver Lake. I'll post pics later. We are planning to head out again tomorrow. Location hasn't been decided yet. Given Jones Lake is aound 5600', I doubt we will go that way. GG, I hope your youngins feelin better. Anybody want to go, let me know.

No bites as of last night for a sledding trip, so am heading a bit further away. Going up to Princeton for some wheeling, sledding and maybe some ice fishing this weekend. If any of you are out that way, give me a yell at 778-241-3724.
