It's getting to be about that time, so I am starting a food thread. This is for the BBQ dinner that will be held Saturday night (note: a change from the mail in registration forms).

Ed will be cooking the meats for us again this year - thank you Ed. Rob still has a brisket in his freezer for you this year also.

What we are needing is side dishes and desserts. I will update this first post as people sign up for various things. For sides we would like baked beans, potato salad, and coleslaw. After we get the basics covered if you have a dish you'd like to share by all means let us know and we'll get that added as well. Deserts we just need a variety, cookies, brownies, some kind of delicious Nutella piece of heaven (looking at you Jen ;)).

Side Dishes:
  • Baked Beans - Peggy
  • Potato Salad - Colin
  • Coleslaw - Jamie
  • Pasta House style salad - toyminator
Desserts:
  • Something Awesome - Jenn
  • Oreo Balls - Amanda
  • Bourbon Balls - Amanda (for the over 21 crowd)

I'll bring some baked beans and maybe a dutch oven cobbler if we need that sort of thing.

I'll put you down for the baked beans. I won't pass up dutch oven cobler, thats for sure. We can either do it one of the other nights, or do it after the raffle around the campfire, unless we want to start a fire and cook it Saturday afternoon before the raffle.

OK Colin, I can take a hint. :) Sign me up for some kind of dessert - not sure what yet. I need to think ahead since we will be getting there on the 15th & the dessert needs to stay stable until the 17th evening. So, I can't go too awesome (Irish Car Bomb Cupcakes for the adults) due to shelf stability. :)

I somehow missed that Peggy was already bringing baked beans - You can put me down for coleslaw instead, Colin.

I'm not a member of your local group but I paid and will be attending. I assume you don't care who brings food. I could bring some sort of Pasta House type salad if you would like.

Just a reminder that the club will provide plates, napkins, plastic ware, bowls, salt, pepper, and serving utensils. If anyone thinks of something I have forgotten just let me know. Everyone brings their own drinks. Or if you want I have a BIG drink cooler and we could do ice tea, think sun tea. Club would buy the tea bags.

Peggy

For those of you who are helping with the food, please keep your receipts so that you can be reimbursed. I made an executive decision that you should not have to pay to eat and pay to fix your food. Our current count, as of this morning, is 51 meals paid for and 14 kids.

Crud. Chris might start the next project before me? oH SNAP..
