Factory Navigation: Any Alternatives in Sight?

The naviav piece is all touch screen so all the factory buttons on the left will do nothing. The heat controls will work as normal. It's actually one of things I don't like about it. Hard buttons are nice when it's sunny. Also wonder how well the touch screen will work when it's -30 in wisconsin.

For my household's 03 100 series (located in New England), when it is cold during winter, our GPS goes crazy. After it survived and was repaired after a bad accident back in 2007, the GPS refuses to work in cold weather conditions (under 30 degrees farenheight) It shows a error message along the lines of "unable to read disk. Check to see if DVD is damaged or dirty" Then it goes back to the Nav warning screen with the English, French, and I agree buttons.

Its like our GPS migrates down to Florida for winter.

Also sometimes during the cold weather, the touchscreen lags on the GPS only.

A 3rd party replacement would be intresting!:D

Still need the different dash wiring harness

Here's one way to do it. Found this pic on autotrader or cars.com.

If you need defrost, rear fan, and mirror switches you would need to relocate those. I am guessing that the separate switches from a 98-01 ish would work to make this easier.

Subscribed. It's ridiculous the things Toyota keeps you out of (on the 100 series).

:(
