Have a real good 2F engine
Have a running 87 FJ60 here that I am going to part out. can sell you the complete engine with power steering pump (works, doesn't leak) for $575. Located in NE PA right off Interstate 81. Engine has 121K, starts great and runs fine. No bad smoke, it's quiet, and will come complete from pan to air cleaner- including alternator, water pump, fan and fan clutch, exhaust manifold, oil cooler, distributor, gear drive starter, clutch and bellhousing. This engine is in great sghape and is indeed a drop in, the carb even behaves well. Again I'm off I-81 125 miles north of the Maryland/PA broder. Is that the 2F or 3F motor in your 87 FJ60. The switch occured in August of 87 didn't it? I have a 1970 FJ40 with an F145 and a 3 on the tree. I have been told a 2F will switch out directly with my F, but that is a 17 year jump. What do you mean, no bad smoke?
I also have a fellow here in NC who responded, but he thinks his is sold. WIll let me know on monday or tuesday if it is. I will keep you posted. Thanks so much for reply. Hope we can work something out.

2F engine
Engine is a 2F, the 3F came out in the 88 model year when the 62 series was introduced. No bad smoke? No blue smoke or no white smoke that would indicate any kind of internal water leak. I believe this is an excellent engine. If you really want to upgrade buy the transmission and transfer case from this truck- you'll have a good 4 speed transmission and the best split transfer case that came in these trucks. The engine will bolt right into your truck you can use your same clutch, bellhousing and transmission no sweat. Let me know. gary

Have one in Smithfield Va. runs good, good compression Alt., Starter, P/S Pump, A/C comp., Bellhousing, Clutch, Carb., Air Cleaner, Dist. Complete. $375. OBO This is an 83 2F

I will keep this in mind. I am waiting for a fellow in Charlotte to let me know if his is sold He should be in contact on monday or tuesday. I will be in contact once I hear from him. Please notice the thread. I have also been in contact with a fellow from PA, sounds like he has a real nice motor. VA is a lot closer and your motor is a little cheaper. Do you know if your motor has any leaks, burning oil, mileage, etc.
I have An 83 fj60 2f one owner 164,000 miles runs great bellhousing, starter, alternator, power steering pump, & air cleaner still on it. Some emission parts are missing. I am in eastern Va. price $375 with all parts.OBO Eastern Va.
never had to add oil between oil changes, did not smoke, did have a small weep at oil pan gasket, oil changed every 3000 mile to 3500 miles since new.
Available if the other one does not work out for you, I don't want to take another person's sell.
