So Cal, in the hood
After much debate (mostly with myself) I am going to dive into my project. Now I am handy with a wrench, but far from being handy with "major" tools, i.e welder (that major to me) but I have "people" that will help me out with this portion. Money is tight so I have try and do it myself. I was also tired of going wheeling with my buddy and not being able to wheel myself.

My plans are to do the following.

- SBC 350 Engine is complete w/ LC 4spd and TC (Already have)

- SOA (anyone have a detailed thread on this?)

- Front disc brakes (Question: Toy or GM?) anyone have a detailed BOM for the GM conversion? Also a thread would be nice.

- Rear disc brakes (Question: Toy or GM?) anyone have a detailed BOM for the GM conversion? Also a thread would be nice.

- Power steering. Have the pump, what is the best box (I was thinking of going big with this option AGR Super Box SB1)

- 37's Pro Comp Xtreme M/T's w/ Pro Comp 17" true beadlocks

Any information from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, it's a 71 55 w/ a completely rusted roof. I will post pictures soon.

Wish me a lot of luck guys.

I'll say it before somebody else does... SEARCH!

Probably the most straight forward would be fj60 axles/hubs. Again... search is your friend. There is a TON of info on this board for that.

GM... BIg Fat ElDorado calipers and disc. Look for a kit. It's pretty easy

Easy = minitruck, but you maintain the stock drag link which is not "ideal"
Best (IMO) is FJ60. You stay Toyota, relocate to eliminate the drag link, and later 2Fs are already tapped for the pump. Those that aren't you can add the pump with a bracket that mounts to the valve head bolts.

- 37's Pro Comp Xtreme M/T's w/ Pro Comp 17" true beadlocks
ROCK ON!

GOOD LUCK!
