F Engine Pricing Help (1 Viewer)

I stumbled on a local guy that has a clean F out of a 71 that runs smooth and has no leaks. He has it mounted on a wooden frame so he can start it on occasion but it only has about 70K miles on it. I have an F from my 74 that runs fine but thought about getting this as a spare.

What kind of price would something like this go for? It is mated up with a 3 speed (column style) and transfer case however I already have my 4 speed so I don't think I'd really need it.

I just bought a good running F engine from a 71 FJ40 attached to the 3 speed transmission with PTO and transfer case in Oregon for $200.00.

Is the F in your 74' the original F.5? If so, wouldn't that be a step back to go to an F? Just wondering...

I believe I have a straight up F since my manufacture month was January in 74. Neither here nor there, I just figured since the guy really doesn't have a use for it and it is as clean/low mileage as it is, I may as well grab it and hang on to it until I need it for future use.
