F and 2F

I think the subject say it all. Can I put the F oil pan on a 2F?

I tried to put an oil pan from a mid 60's F engine on my 2F (78), it wasn't deep enough, the oil pump hit the bottom of the oil pan. I ended up using an 3FE oil pan, I had to trim the baffles inside but that was easy. So in short, based upon my experience you probably can not use the older oil pan.

Not sure about the older F pans but the later pans will fit fine. You may need to trim the baffles a bit due to the different shape of the 2F pump pickup

I have a leak that is getting worse. I don't think I hit it this weekend, but you never know. I did try some more difficult lines. I noticed the pan is bent some, but I will not know more until I get it off of the truck. I have a pan from my 73 F and I hope it will fit.
