I've got a 04 LX470 and wanted ask if all model years are the same for the exterior door moldings (the large pieces on the lower part of each door)? I don't need the full molding piece but my drivers side rear door has the silver insert missing near the top. Attached is a sample picture of item; the silver insert piece near top is what I have missing.

Since I can't find just that silver piece it looks like I need to buy the whole molding. I thought all years were the same (98-07) but many listings I find on Ebay and other sites list compatibility for either 1998-2002 or 2003-2007. Would that be correct or are all these molding pieces the same for all years? I did search but nothing definitive came back.

You should be able to find a roll of same width moulding at your local auto parts store although you may have to replace the insert strip on all your moldings as to match the brightness. The moulding will come in a roll with two sided tape on it. You will have to carefully scrape the old tape from inside your moulding and cut new moulding to length and install. It takes a bit of patience to remove the old glue without damaging the moulding but just use a very narrow flat screwdriver.

Good to know. Thanks for the info. I’ll do some research.
