Works out at US$280 for each end. The bloke I spoke to said he would ship to the US direct so give em a call or a email.

Mate ,
I dont know what he is on about. The web site quotes A$499 a pair. That works out at about 340 US

Did he mean 618 for all 4 ? or did that price include shipping and customs to the US

No way would shipping run $300! I ship stuff around the world often enough to know that. You can ship a car for just a few hundred more!

Doh! My mistake... Here is his quote:

"Tom,
The shackles are $499 per pair ( one end ) or $800 for both ends( all 4 shackles) Plus Freight
We do not currently have a distributor for our gear in the US,but we would be interested in one .
Cheers
Mick"

I just ordered 1 full set. if they are as good as they look i will be the US dist of them. Nothing firm until I try them out. Gary, Bob? either of you want to try out a set with me?

I have put mine on, the wheel travel they offer is awesome. At the moment my car has only a 2.5 inch spring lift and running 35's and I have just squeezed a wheel on to a 44 gal drum,I need to do a lot of work to get the full amount of movement out of the suspension bodylift, wheel spacers, extended brake lines & perhaps high movement steering arms .

DDdave.
Yah man I do want to try a set. When all the dist. talk was goin' down I was thinkin' of you. With the Oz tent an' all your a natural to distribute this Hot Ozzy gizzmo.
Link up here or get me private.

Dave,
Now that I might decide to go this route. What about my concern that just like the revolver, these Ozzie shackles might unload when I'm pitched down a hill, or for that matter when I'm side hilling.
I see that the on road issue is solved with the locking pin but I'm lifted, I'm heavy and I don't want the ass end of my truck rising up when I'm trying to control my decent.

One of the high end Dodge trucks was rumored to have drop shackles with in cab release mechanism ???

Don't have any more info ...

Cahil

P.S. Of course the simple solution is to rename the 'spotter' to ... *pinner*.

I don't think these will open up on a decent or a side hill unless the un-load the suspension on that corner. If you un-load the suspension, then with a normal shackle you'd be lifting that tire off of the ground anyway.

I weigh a lot more than you do and I dont see it as an issue. I cant see them lifting unless you unload the back end. I suppose it is possible there would be an issue but I have not heard back from them today. I will keep you updated.
