exact PTO output speed

Hi All,

What is the rpm of the PTO shaft?
Is it engine rpm times gearing of the transmission?
Or are there more reductions on the trnavercase's PTO gear itself and the PTO unit?

Does the PTO unit reduct, and does the PTO gear in the transvercase reduct?

The PTO speed varies with engine speed.

PTO speed is also affected by the gear selected to drive the PTO. Usually gears 1 or 2 will be used, too high a shaft speed will lead to vibration of the shafting.

The PTO gear box and PTO gear in the transfer case do have a reduction, I have not counted the teeth on these gears, so I have no idea what the ratio is.

Any PTO item may or may not have further reduction built in. All PTO winches drive via a set of gears and those will have further reduction built in.
