How was Henry able to import his 62 to the States? Has anyone imported any more from Venezuela? I'd like to have a 62 with a carb'd 3f and 5 speed.

Sweet truck. What color was it originally? Anyone know the color code?

I used the now-defunct Foreign Student importation clause, which was eliminated with the big importation changes of 1996.

That I know of, there's about 12 Land Cruisers of Venezuelan origin in the US, between 60/70/80 Series. I'm sure there are also a handful of earlier Cruisers, too.

The original color of the Princess was "Gris Templado", which translates to "Tempered Gray". It was a metallic light grey, I don't think I ever saw another Land Cruiser in the US in the same color. It was a notoriously crappy color, too, it tended to fade/oxidize much faster than other colors of the same era and I think it was only available on the 60 series from 1990 to 1992 in Venezuela. The Venezuelan ID plate didn't include a paint code, so I never really know the Toyota paint code.

It went from Tempered Gray to Code 012 Super White to Conniston Green over the 11 years I had it in the US.
