Post mortem on the tank, it was indeed the larger hole I tried to epoxy over that failed.

Should be picking up my new tank on Tuesday.

Soft Top came in today. Just a test fit and letting it air/stretch out a bit as I still need to finish up my door surround channels, but I am very happy to report that the TROA top feels, looks and fits excellent on my homemade bows. I don't even think I'm going to have to adjust my bows much if at all to really get the fit dialed in.

Super happy with this!

I am just about to attempt the same install. Real curious how your install process goes. Thanks!

Actually already done. I used this video for tips on how to get it installed easily. I think the real takeaway is do the vertical door channel first, then slide in the top channel piece and fasten it down.

It really wasn't bad at all. I do still need to install the eyelets for the toggle fasteners for the side windows, but that seems pretty straightforward as well.

Thanks again for the reference video. Removing the door channel really makes it an easy task 👍🏽

This eyelet tool really simplifies punching the holes for the twist lock grommets. Available on Amazon from several sellers. They also offer the grommets in stainless

That's a neat tool!

I used the fabric awl I had from when I made the safari cover for my FJ45 bed and enlarged the holes with a soldering iron (also has the benefit of sealing any fibers that might potentially fray).

In other news... Got my fuel gauge working, or rather I replaced my fuel gauge with one I had sitting on the shelf and it worked.

Ok having an interesting problem and want to get some ideas on where to check.

The truck starts up, warms up and idles great. Almost no effort. It even drives great for a little while.

However ...after about 10-15 minutes of driving time it will randomly stall out on me and not want to drive. I can get it to start back up and idle (usually with choke), but it doesn't want to take pedal and actually drive.

Has me stumped because like I said, when it's been sitting for a couple of days it's great. Starts right up, idles great, and even drives great for a short amount of time, but beyond that doesn't want to cooperate.

I think a fuel issue. Put a bottle off yellow fuel dryer in the tank and change the fuel filter. Put a $10 electric fuel pump in line in the system. Gas dryer will suck up the water from warm days cold nights condensing water right in your tank as it breathes. The paper element in filter will not let gas pass if it is saturated with water. Set them in the sun for a few days, they will dry out and be good again. The electric pump will eliminate issues like a cracked diagram in the mechanical fuel pump that sometimes works and sometimes it doesn't.

Next is spark. Coils can have intermittent short from heat flexing in the wires.

I agree it's definitely a fuel issue, I don't have the mechanical pump anymore I'm only running an electric pump. Checked my filter and it is a little cruddy. I might toss a new filter on and see if that helps. Hoping nothing got into the metering body of the carb as I'd prefer not to pull it apart.

Spark should be fine. It's a brand new DUI with livewires
