Hi folks,

I recently bought a Scangauge II (or essentially the same) however I didn't realise that the protocols used by the 1HDFTE 100 series are different to the 4.7 Petrol version, meaning the scangauge 2 doesn't work.

I have an ongoing cluster issue and whilst I hope I can remedy it, I would like to have accurate MPH & RPM displays (I know the data from the car is accurate with tech stream).

Is there anything out there that will work?

I never considered the diesel and petrols would work differently on that front.

Thanks!

Same situation. I bought a Vgate vLinker BM Plus Bluetooth BLE OBD2 Scanner that is supposed to talk to the Torque App but all I got was basic readings of revs and boost. Nothing else. Would be interested to know what others are using that doesn't cost huge $$$ in fancy guages.

Look at Land Cruiser Scotland on Instagram or YouTube. He has a solution, it works. Available on Amazon

Thanks, I saw the video and saw that it doesn't work for older than 2002 models. I have a 2000.

It does work with my 2000 HDJ100.

Granted it shows only limited information but I can get MAP pressure, injection volumes, timing info, AHC pressures and ride height, etc.

Really? That's great! Can you share the exact model you bought as I saw they have a huge selection.

It is the one mentioned above:

I bought it from Aliexpress. Here you have a link:

You can probably get it faster (and more expensive) from Amazon or other resellers.

Take into account that my car and the one featured in the video are European-spec turbo-diesel HDJ100, so there is a chance that it will not work in your US-spec petrol car. Anyhow, in my opinion it is too cheap no to try it.
