I know I have already mentioned this but I figured I'd do it again. The company that I do contract work for is in need of a couple of people.
The job: service, maintenance of CNC milling and lathe machines.
Location: North Delta, CAPTIN (Toyota), off River rd. between the tunnel and the Alex Fraser bridge.
Requirements:Being mechanically inclined is necessary, you don't need to have a huge amount of experience but a basic understanding of mechanics is a good start. The ability to listen and follow instructions. The job is a bit physical at times so that is also a consideration. Steel toe boots.
The job outline: The company I work for (Danha International) has a contract with CAPTIN to maintain and service their CNC machines, the work includes a lot of preventative maintenance, major and minor repairs of the machines, it includes the mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems. It does involve working with grease, oil, and coolant. There is on-site training as you go, the more you learn and do the more you get paid.
Money: starting wage is $15.00p/hr, depending on your experience and how quickly your learn, raises are not given out on a scheduled basis but they are based upon your skill, how quickly you learn and how much you can do, which means that if you are good at this it is not going to take 1 year+ to be at $25.00p/hr.
If you are interested, call me 604.803.3506

No. It also does not include new rims, which would not fit on our trucks anyways - I tried. So is there anyone who might be interested or knows of someone who might be interested? any questions? something they would like to discuss or negotiate? Can't tell me that there is no people out there that are not interested in this type of work with a lot of potential.

It is open to anyone who is able to do it, there are no restriction on race, religion or gender. If you are mechanically inclined (the more the better), can listen and want to learn, don't mind playing with a bit of grease, oil and coolant - give me a call.

sounds like a fun job.

I have a friend down in Vancouver who would be good at it. But the starting wage might be difficult. I understand it goes up quickly as you said.

Can it be done part time locally?

Part time is good. It is in a specific location, North Delta, off River Rd. is that what you would call locally for your friend?

Hey Mat, I talked to him and gave him this thread info. He thought it sounded pretty good. But he also has a friend asking him to do some construction work too. When it rains it pours he said with opportunities.

Is CAPTIN the toyota parts plant?

CAPTIN is the North American plant for all of the new aluminum rims that come on new vehicles. Out of their production line 60% goes to Toyota in America, 30% for Canada and around 10% to Japan or other places. Regrettably they only do about 6 different models and none of them fit older Toyotas.
