Knowing how much forklift batteries weight, I have to wonder how much that battery under the hood weighs.

Either way, this will be a great option for future conversion for those that want electric.

So no water pump, hoses, radiators, injection pump, glowplugs, fan belt, air/oil filter,timing belt, idler, exhaust, clutch, gearbox and the list goes on.

Forums will be like "why isn't my battery charging?" or "why is my battery flat?". Or maybe "how many klms do you get from a charge"

I guess they will hold up as well as the starter motor and alternator do on current vehicles.

I for one will never buy an electric vehicle (well if i can help it). I can see the point for people that never leave the city but citys are a filth box and i hate them

I remember some interview of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May where they were saying that as vehicle enthusiasts and people that had a love for cars the thought of electric cars did not apeal to them at all because they were characterless and so on.

For me i love the sound on an engine working hard underload and screaming when your flogging it and at least i can work and fix anything on my landcruiser. And for my part i damn well hope that i can always have the freedom to be able to own and drive such cars. Some of you that are oldies wont have that problem but I'm not quite 20 even yet

Some of these new lithium batteries are half the weight of the old lead acid types. My son has a battery that is about 200x150x25mm and he says it can jump start his 6.0 V8 if he has to.
