I'm attempting to utilize the fog lights off my 2000 4Runner (took off before trading in) as rock lights on the front of the 85'. The power is coming from the little 4-prong thing a mig jig (relay) that I picked up at radio shack.

I have the switched powered through a circuit with a 15 amp fuse (aux fuse box)
The aux fuse box is powered direct from the battery and has a 30amp fuse between battery and aux fuse box

The lights work fine when they are not bolted to anything.

As soon as I bolt them to the inner fender well, the 30amp fuse between the battery and the relay blows.

I'm using the same grounding connection points for the relay and the switch as I'm using for another set of lights running through another relay (witch don't blow a fuse)

The only difference is the ground for the lights themselves is a direct connect into factory grounding wires from lights that are not longer in use (I believe they are from the turn signal.

Whats going wrong?

you might be using a reverse light system.. toyota uses a reverse polarity on their horns.. Ground the lights directly to frame not wiring. see what happens.
