electrical problem - 92 tracker (1 Viewer)

my buddy has a 92 tracker and is having a problem with his electrical. i haven't seen the problem first hand, but he says that every now and then, his stereo will cut in and out and shortly after, the tach will die and the lights will dim. he has replaced the battery, alternator and has checked his grounds. what else should he be looking for?

seen a couple bad ign switches...might go there since the headlamps are affected. Also check the connection on the underhood relay/fuse block, but unlikely as the wiring is usually pretty good. Did he up the headlamp bulb wattage for better lighting? Seen the connectors melt before too.
