I have a 2006 LX470 that has recently started showing some electrical gremlins. When I turn on the right turn signal, the reverse lights flash with the blinker. I unplugged the two tail light assemblies on the passenger side to see if that was the issue, but it was not. Then I noticed that the problem goes away when the tailgate is open. I also noticed that when I close the tailgate, right before it is completely closed, it activates the door locks. I think the tailgate may be pushing on the wiring harness that runs between the body and the tailgate. There is no visible damage to the harness, but there must be an issue with one of the wires inside it. Is there an easy way to check without slicing open the wiring harness? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

based on threads i've read on this forum over the years, i would check the following:

1. make sure you have no roof / sunroof leaks. water can leak in and onto the ECUs causing all kinds of mayhem
2. check all the fuses in both the engine compartment and inside, make sure nothing weird there
3. check all the relays (pull out and inspect each one) in the engine compartment, check for damaged or burnt contacts
4. check your engine ground straps, there are several of them in the engine compartment

good luck

I think I may have found the issue! Lol
