Hey yall,
I've had my 95 80 for some 5 years now, and its always had some odd electrical stuff going on. It had some cut, mysterious wires attached to the positive terminal of the battery, which I assume were for an abandoned security system or sound system. It has been disconnected with no issue. My one current curiosity is something I noticed more recently.

When closing the door hard, or smacking the drivers side of the dash, a ticking sound of sorts, and rapid on/off of the lights on the dash occurs for a second or two, fairly consistently. Anybody have any idea what this could be?

I have a video file with an example, but am not sure how to attach it to this post.

First thought.. stop slamming the door shut? 😜

The driver's door switch is used by Door Lock Control Relay, which gets its power from the Power Relay. Check your power relay, and make sure it is connected well and/or swap in another identical relay to test.

The grounds for the circuit is ID and IE. Make sure the ground at ID, left kick panel, is good. IE is in the right kick panel.

Slamming and smacking may have been a bit hyperbolic. I would say it takes the equivalent of dropping a a D battery about 8 inches above the grounds worth of force with my hand on the dash.
I will definitely investigate that, thank you.
