Chorizo lard! Fry the chorizo, remove from pan, raise heat, add beans (I do mash the a bit for texture/tradition). Large group? Cook/boil the beans, melt manteca in separate pot, pour into pot of beans. Take a paint mixer attached to a drill and whip to preference.

If you want vegis or meats in your beans, look up "frijoles charros" yum!
 
Just discovered cachete tacos last night.

Definitely something worth having with quality homemade beans.

Yeah, this taco truck my friends and I went to had the pot roast style prep for their meat, and it could definitely beat out 2/3 places that sell asada.
The flavor, texture, and juice were unparalleled.
