So I bought the L-5 Eccotemp and played with it once in the woods without the fittings all tight so it obviously leaked but even then, still worked great. Did the trick at the time.

Fastforward to about 20 different water fittings/quick connects/adapters later and I have it all pipe-taped up, quick connects in place, Shurflo pump hooked up, battery powered up, ready to test it out for real.

Go to hook up the simple flared nut gas fitting for the propane tank, and then, in one huge brain cramp, I snap the damn fitting right off inside. I got too excited seeing the light at the end of my tunnel and have this thing pumping out hot water in my garage without leaking. OOOh the anticipation! It's a flare nut fitting that I know better than to crank on, yet somehow my brain shut off.

Then I bust the casting/fitting right off. :bang::bang: Now I'm screwed. Guess it helps to be smarter than the equipment you're working on. Stupid Eddy..........

Try warranty first, then replacement parts. Simple fix if they will even sell the parts. Probably some nasty liability with gas so maybe not?

And just how did I know you'd be the first to reply? :flipoff2:

Hey, at least I set the camper shell back on the trailer in my driveway. And cleaned out all the crap. :hillbilly:

And while we're on the "trailer" topic, I'm looking at just picking up a 5x10' cargo trailer to use for bmx and general hauling duties. (Still may make brackets/Yakima mounts for the tent to go on top of that too). A lot of these bmx Nationals have camping and I won't be going to all of them.

Wifey can then pull a little 5x10 with her van and leave the "TitanPat Special" for more serious adventures. :)

This one just happens to be sitting a block from my house. Need to convince them to sell it now.

some day.....................................................

Someone has to toss some snowballs around here...

I do like that trailer in the pic..but I really like where the 80's going too!!

Great live action shots with the boys!

Thanks Pat. I try to get out as much as possible with the knuckleheads, but summers just seem to get shorter and busier every year. Looking forward to fall and winter. Can't wait for ice fishing. :)

I take it you used ONLY 1 wrench and snap !!

Remove all bits and keep it intact and take pictures, (Better than memory )

Any good tig welder could weld repair that.

If you find a supply parts house , post it up.

Brand spankin' new-in-the-box unit just came today via UPS. I don't even have to send the old one back so I basically have 2 units. :grinpimp:

Awesome customer service from EccoTemp!

The broken one still works fine as a shower/sprayer, just won't have heat. On a 90 degree summer day, I don't know that it's a big deal anyway if I can't get the broken fitting fixed/welded. Not sure if I'll even try since I hate to mess with gas problems sitting in the middle of nowhere some night.

We'll see. Just happy to have my screw up not cost me another $125.
