Well easy if you don't go to the trouble of removing it before you clean. I already had mine out to do the 3rd dome mod, fill the factory roof rack holes and add Dyna Mat. But it wouldn't be any different to clean in place.

I found 303 Cleaner and spot remover, a great product that is sold at Camping World etc that is used to clean the interiors of RV's and Campers.

Just spray and wipe with a dry cloth. I used an old bath towel and it worked great and only took a few minutes.

head liner removal & installation

I gutted out my 94 interior except for the headliner. PO smoked in it...needed new carpet and more...I installed Dynamat - I've done all flooring, will be working on the doors soon...been procrastinating about removing the headliner. Been reviewing / searching FAQ and other post regarding headliners, but since you're there....do you have any do(s) and don't(s), tips .. etc during removal? ..thanks

Mr. Clean Magic Erasers work wonders on dirty moonroof slider panels too.

Didn't remove it 100%, but I had some severe black marks/streaks (maybe rubber guide components?) that are very faint marks now.

I've heard that there's 2 different variations of headliner and ours, being '94s, falls into the extremely more difficult version. I don't know the break point, but I remember wincing when I realized what mine was. The later ones, like the OPs are stiffer and much easier to work on. Just a FYI and you might want to do some more searching and research before attempting yours. Good luck!

That's what I thought, the 96-97's (maybe ~95) are 1 piece and really pretty easy to remove and replace. The earlier one's are an entirely different design and more fragile.

<95 are a floating style headliner. They are suspended by a series of bows (think VW Bug). What makes them a royal PIA is having to remove your windshield & quarter windows (plus all the interior trim). Once that is done, it comes out quite easily:D If I decide to keep my 80, I plan on replacing the headliner and installing a layer of Damplifier on the roof, since that is the only area not insulated.
