Yup Waggoner , it's a great effect .. especially with a good vocal . Hit's ya right between the eyes !
Rick , I didn't think he had .. mind you I wasn't there during the install .. and they seemed to look like they'd bolt right in when we mocked them up . Our only concern was depth . But he said they bolted in .. but are right up against the window guts .. but without any interference
Tyler- How far out do those directionals stick out? Looks like they may get in the way of a unsuspecting knee climbing in or out.
Looks real nice though!!!! I know I have really enjoyed my set up.
I bought some Rockford Fosgate speakers that fit right in as well. I will have to check out the specs tonight and see what they are.
Wonder if there could be a compilation of all the speakers that people have used for their front doors. I know I had a hard time of finding ones that fit. Glad I didn't have to pull out the dremmel or hack saw to install them!
Harridig , haven't had a chance to measure them yet , but have never been even close to touching them yet ....
Concrete , I was thinking about this when I was sitting in the truck tonite waiting for my pizza to cook Let me summarize .. or ramble here :
Something which stands out is the 'separation' . By this I mean that the various high , mid , and low ranges seem to be quite distinct .
Vocals , especially solo vocals seem to exist right between my ears .. as though , as someone stated , I am wearing earphones .
The drum kits are distinct and seperate sounding . One song was so crisp that as I sat there , eyes closed , I'd swear someone suddenly pounded rapidly on both front windows .. it's that percussive !
I can 'feel' the music in my chest ... a soothing percussive bass . And I can feel the other ryhthms in my legs , and arms .. feet .
Even with the volume on mute tonite , but with the 'loudness' button on , I was able to really enjoy the music .. powerful and clear , yet soft .
