Is Rust Converter & Rust Encapsulator any good?

I have a small area of rust on my bodywork, above the rain gutter, that I want to fix up.

I have just seen it on an Eastwood video.

This one shows Eastwood Pre, Rust Converter, Rust Encapsulator, and Extreme Chassis Black...

They say that you can use Rust Encapsulator as a top coat, or top coat over it.

I was going to use it as a top coat (until I can be bothered getting it sprayed properly with white), with the assumed advantage that it might prevent rust coming back to that area better than regular paint.

I've used it in the past with great results. My brother used it on his 1970 Chevelle frame and painted it using their chassis black as a top coat. Still holding up great and that was over three years ago. He also never drives it unless the weather is perfect with no humidity and the planets are in perfect alignment .

As for using it as a top coat I can't vouch for that. I am very familiar with epoxy primers which I think are the best to use on clean bare metal. If you spray them and plan on topcoating it later you only have a window of time (48-72hrs) before you have to sand it to give it tooth to hold the topcoat. Probably going to be the same with the encapsulator. What it comes down to (like with most things) is the prep work. You can buy the "best" aka most $$$$ stuff on the market, but if it's poorly prepped you wasted your money. Hope this helps.
