Hi. I just bought an EAS timing belt for my HZJ73. I wanted to know if anybody has opinions on them or should I take it back and put in a Toyota one? It was $75. I don’t want it to break prematurely and destroy the engine in the process. Thanks

Jeremy

I have never used a OEM timing belt. I used $25 belts , ACL I think, worked fine. For $75 you should get the idler , cam o ring as well.
In all honestly, I dont remember hearing of a single 1HZ belt failing unless it went way past its 100000klm service point.
I dont know about your laws, but if you sold a belt that failed in Australia, the importer would be legally responsible. It keeps them on their toes.

EDIT. It was DAYCO belts I used
