Is there any demand for refurbishment or repair of these devices? It wouldn't be too difficult to set up a test stand for them.

Lots of 40 "computers" have the solder where the wiring harness socket attaches to the circuit board crack, making an intermittent connection to the fuel cutoff solenoid on the carb. So for folks who want/need to retain the computer, there would be some kind of market. But for those of us who don't live in smog nazi states, it's easy to just ground the fuel cutoff solenoid wire and bypass the computer.
 
There is a market for the purist. Cost for refurb vs. demand is hard to tell. There are many here who do a refurb job and then market them.
