I plan to build a truggy type rig. Early 90's Toyota x-cab and frame, V-8, auto , 203/205 doubler.
My question is will the width of the 205 be a problem?

The majority of the 79-85-ers tend to me at least a little puritanical Toyota fans, so answers may not be forthcoming.
what's the width of a 205?
IMO, if you post up the dimensions, I'm sure folks here would be able to supply you with frame width info.
Good luck!

Thanks for the info friend. I think it would be easier just to use my current frame and put the Toyota cab on it...

hissss booooo

:flipoff2:

I shouldn't think the width would be a problem, b/c the drive shaft drop makes it more diagonal instead of across, right?

And you're gonna be fabbing up X members and motor mounts anyway... :meh:

IMO, might as well go with the boxed frame instead of the flexy channel...

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use the junker chevy frame.

That 205 will fit fine. You will be much happier with chev power than the crappy ol 22r.

HEY!
There are those of us here who like the 22R! Jeez!

But, yeah, definitely don't waste your time on that mud-dragger Chevy frame, that thing will go into swiss cheese mode in about three years of hard wheeling.
I really like the C-channel Toyota frames, I think that flex they offer adds to the truck's ability to "reach" in tight locations.

Who said ch**y? I currently have a 72' Bronco. I'm trying to decide between the toyota or Bronco frame, both are factory boxed, BTW...
I picked up my cab and frame today, 90' x-cab...

Let the bastardization begin.........
