DVD Changer not recognized after OEM swap (2005 yr part replaces 2002)

Pressing DISC button on screen yields "The external system is not connected."
I just swapped 6 DVD changer. 2005 part 86270-60114 replaced original 2002 part 86270-60110 on a 2003 LandCruiser.
I bought my truck new in Oct 2002.
Connectors and pins are identical. Junk yard stated 2005 part was from a Lexus. I figured I'd go with a newer year w/possibly less wear and tear. I disconnected the battery 10-20 min multiple times. Cleaned connectors, checked fuses, etc. DVD has power, cycles when disc magazine is inserted. Any help greatly appreciated. Do I need to buy orig part no?

What was wrong with the OEM head unit? Electronic parts are not tires; just because a part fits, doesn't mean it'll work. You need to compare the EWD's for all the years you're working with.

Dvds got jammed in orig unit. Unit was dismantled, to get DVDs out. It's toast now. Thank you

It seems part no 86270-60111 is a new OEM part that superceeds 86270-60110 for 2002-2004 LandCruisers. I'll have to go orig & used.

Prob Solved. I just had to connect the console w/rear controls. I didn't want to put everything back yet. So later year DVD works, i.e. 2005yr 86270-60114. Toyota recommended 86270-60111 for the replacement for my 03's - 86270-60110. Hope this can help someone else. Thanks.
