did your volt meter bounce around a bunch then settle when you raised the engine RPM? that is what mine did at a stoplight last night, and hasn't done it since. i'm fairly sure i have the original alternator in there, and i just replaced the belt about 100 miles ago so i doubt it's loose already.
No, no bouncing - just a steady drop.
Mike - yeah, it's a voltmeter. Pretty sure something in it is on the fritz, now. When I tested it at the battery, we let it idle, turned on a bunch of stuff, revved the motor and watched the multimeter and the guage inside. Did a few tests like that - never saw any lights dimming, etc, just movement in the guage.
Might be time to get an aftermarket ampmeter...
