Alright, So the previous owner decided to install a DUI dizzy and and 12 volt fuel pump, so to turn on/off the 40 you switch the 2 switches simple enough... but I wanted a turn key operation. so I wired in 2 relays for the switches and heres the problem. When I switch the ignition to start it cuts off the relays and doesnt crank. Is there any easy way to fix this? Maybe install timer relays or wire it off the start wire? Any help would be great! I really don't want to go back to switches.

The ignition switch has 2 positions
On
And start

The on position powers the coil, all accessories and the starter
In the start position only the coil and starter are powered, this is to improve starting
If you wired the relay to "on" it would cut off when starting
Check out coolermans wiring diagrams, they may have some insight into the connections

never needed relays for that stuff just wired them to the on side of the ignition switch

Shelfboy is right. The only thing that requires a relay is something that has a huge amp draw like the headlights etc... the starter has the relay on it (solenoid). Just wire the switch with coolermans info

I'm using the relay in lieu of the switch that the PO has installed. I have looked at the schematics and has a wire going from the fuse block to the coil so I guess I can try it instead of the relay.
