The trick of pulling the e-brake to the first click to shut off the DRL's, does that effect the e-brake at all or is it just the brake light you have to worry about? (neet trick by the way)

Just the brake light, unless your e-brake is adjusted so tight that it imparts resistance on the first click. Mine doesn't.

Just pull the DRL resister plug at the front of the vehicle. It's a one minute job.

X2.

You could also wire in a switch for the DRL's to make it even easier.

X3 :meh:
I just unplugged mine and then wrapped some duct tape around the connectors to keep dirt out. No problem, just do it before it gets cold out, it is hard to get to with big hands. I get asked all the time about it. It is right behind the Driver side headlamp, just unplug it and no more dumb DRLs!
