Drivign around at Pismo

Hey Guys,

Going to be our first time at Pismo this weekend, got a question.

Do we need a whip antenna with an orange flag on it to play aroung in the dunes?

I dont want to get in trouble while having fun.

You do not have to have one for a 4x4 truck like ours. I've never had one. That being said, if you are at all concerned about safety, get one.

I thought they had a new rule that all vehicles required the whip. or maybe they were just thinking about it? Even if it's only proposed regulation, I was thinking of buying one anyway - it's safer to have one.

Thought there was a thread about it, maybe on Expo. Proposed at this time for trucks like ours. Required for ATV's and the like. Good discussion and links. I'll see if I can find it.

Do I need a sand flag?
Not if you are driving a street legal vehicle*, but it's still a good idea if you venture into the back dunes. You can buy sand flags at a couple shops near the Pier Ave entrance.
