Hey,
Trying to track down a loud whining noise I‘m getting on deceleration from higher speed (anything over ~70kph). Could be occurring during acceleration too but less noticeable if so. Almost sounds like loud straight cut gears, shifting trans into neutral during deceleration makes it disappear.
Pulled front driveshaft with locked cdl and there was no change.
Inspecting the rear driveshaft I do perceive some play. Specifically rotational play in the slip joint. My question is - what is normal? Driveshaft is freshly greased, but I didn’t pull it apart to grease it thoroughly. Next step regardless will be pulling rear ds and going for a drive, but curious what people think. Also have a set of chassis ears on the way.
