I'm on a roadtrip in Alaska and the Yukon. Looks like I have a failed U-joint just in front of the rear diff. I can't tell if the joint is replaceable or not. Looks like I have to replace at least the rear part of the two piece shaft? Or both parts? Truck is a 1990 extended cab pickup with 22re. Is the V6 shaft different from the 22re? Also, can I pull the rear shaft and run only the front wheel drive? Issues with that? I will be in Juneau on July 14th/15th. Are there any mudders who would know about parts options in Juneau? I will be in and out of cell/internet access from now until July 24th or so. Phone or text is 778 554 5383.

Moog would be my next choice after oem, but any new joint is better than a failed part. With fairly basic tools and the right knowledge its doable on the side of the road, let alone anywhere else. It is possible to run on front front shaft only and the only issue I have experienced is handling a little weird in the corners but its got me home a couple times. No worries, onward the journey!

Id take a worn toyota joint over a moog any day!

The only aftermarket I may consider is a matsuba

Marlin crawler.

thanks forthe replies. Mendenhall toyota had the joint in stock!! I had them install it due to the monsoon conditions. Delayed reply due to being out of internet range in Glacier Bay.
