Driver's Mirror

Have 85 FJ60 that I did little driving with last few years, now putting back in daily driver service. The driver mirror wont stay adjusted, Tried tightening the small screws on the shaft but still is loose. Any ideas on how to tighten it up so it doesn't come out of adjustment when I shut then driver's door?
